In a nut-shell, the lower price of the Swift GPS does NOT sacrifice performance… its performance
is actually better. The Garmin package costs more simply because it’s a ‘Garmin’; for they’re
very, very proud of their product, charging us more for them.
Swift Advantages:
* A Faster GPS. Its update rate is 10 hertz which is twice that of the Garmin.
* The Swift GPS has a handy Status indicator (LED).
When searching for a Satellite Sync, it remains solidly lit.
When Sync’d, the light blinks.
* The warm start-up recovery is blazing fast… often the GPS has re-sync’d within 5 seconds.
* A smaller overall package size.
* The price.
Garmin Advantages:
* The Garmin has a 15 foot cable, the Swift has a 6 foot.
* The Garmin has a threaded insert (nut) embedded in its belly; thus it can be captivated by
a screw. The Swift doesn’t, but its package is smaller. And we include a 1” diameter Velcro
patch with adhesive backs, to get the Swift good and stuck where you want it.
