Replace that old pitot-tube speedometer with modern GPS.
The NL3 paired with a GPS Receiver are powered from the boat’s +12Vdc. The active NL3 reports the real-time GPS velocity on a Medallion Speedometer Gauge. The NL3 does it all... A Dash computer and/or power converter are NOT required.

Are you a Do-It-Yourself’er looking for a reasonable path to a new Speedometer? And want to maintain the classic ‘Analog’ gauge flavor of your dash.
Here’s The Plan:
 Purchase a NL3 package; This will include a GPS Receiver.
  Purchase a new or used Medallion-II Speedometer.
  Install the new speedometer, and attach the NL3/GPS.
  Terminate the three power wires, and it’s in.

 Where do I get one of the Medallion-II Speedometer Gauges?
Nautic Laugic has limited inventory; see NL3 packages. Check with a boat brand dealership or marine parts store. Watch for new-clearance surplus on Ebay and marine salvage stores.
 They come in both the standard 3.5” and 5” diameters.
 For one with a boat brand nameplate, please inquire at your
  preferred dealership. Part numbers vary by brand. Use the
  following brand list for compatibility; should they ask if
  a Primary or Secondary speedometer is desired, either will
  work. Also depending on the Make and Model, there are
  different background colors available. Do Not use a
  A Medallion speedometer with an LCD display in it.
